🔊 Sound of the Hills

Author’s Note

This poem was inspired by the kind of quiet morning when nature becomes the only music the heart needs. Living among the hills, I’ve learned that not all noise is chaos—some sounds carry peace, clarity, and a reminder of what truly matters. On certain Sundays, when the world finally loosens its grip and the usual rush softens, I find myself pausing just to listen: to the breeze rustling leaves, to distant birds calling, to the soft hum of life waking up.

In those moments, I realize how easily we forget the beauty in simple sounds, the ones we often overlook while chasing routine and responsibility. This poem captures the comfort of choosing nature’s voice over the noise of the world—an invitation to switch off the engine, silence the hurry, and let the hills speak. These small pauses are priceless; they give back more than they take.

Some noise is definitely worth hearing
Some noise is definitely more soothing
Some noise is definitely worth searching
And I would rather love hearing this noise
Above some earthly music.
And on a quiet Sunday morning,
Definitely worth stopping my grumpy engine
And hear what nature wants to say,
This little moment is priceless,
And yet it is bountiful, in our hills.
